The Folkestone Harbour and Seafront Development Company held a public exhibition on proposals for the first phase of the redevelopment of Folkestone seafront. We invited local people to join us at the exhibition to show how our plans are developing.
In 2015 we were granted outline planning consent for a mixed use development, including new homes, cafes and restaurants, as well as extensive recreational space. In April 2018 a series of amendments to this planning consent (based on the masterplan) were also approved.
We are now ready to share our detailed plans for the first phase of development and will shortly be submitting what is known as a ‘Reserved Matters’ application for the site. This application will focus on the detailed elements of the design, landscape and materials. It will not change the building sizes and heights, which have already been agreed.
The exhibition was a chance to see our plans, hear about how the seafront is changing, meet the team and get your questions answered. If you were unable to come to the exhibition but would like to find out more, you can download a copy of the boards presented here.
As we develop our plans, we are keen to discuss your priorities. At this stage, we are particularly interested to hear your thoughts about which features you would like to see at the proposed Leas Square. Please take a moment to fill out this feedback form and let us know what you think.
If you have any questions, or would like to discuss any aspect of the proposals further, please contact us on:
