2. Consultation FAQs

When and where did the consultation take place?

There was an excellent response to the public consultation held between May and July 2010, with over 70% of respondents surveyed agreeing with our new approach.

In total, 510 people attended public meetings and 2,400 attended the exhibition, whilst 1446 questionnaires were completed.

3,195 local school students also took part in consultation events, which included visiting the exhibitions, and participating in school based projects.

What was the outcome?

In order to ensure the impartiality of the consultation, Folkestone Harbour Company commissioned Canterbury Christ Church University to carry out the public consultation. This included staffing the  exhibits, designing the questionnaires, and evaluating the data. The resulting analysis can be viewed here and will inform the Farrell Masterplan.

Will there be a further chance to contribute to the consultation procedure?

At various points during the development and planning stage there will be further opportunities for you to comment. In the meantime you are invited to contribute at any time on our Facebook page, by emailing enquiries@folkstoneseafront.com, or on this website.
